Ghibli, say 'yes' please! Here's why: I love both the Studio Ghibli films and the woodblock prints that the Mokuhankan workshop have made. They do such a fabulous job. Having 12 different prints and a wooden box that serves as both storage and stand would be very nice.

Thank you.

Kathleen

Ghibli, say 'yes' please! Here's why:

Studio Ghili has been adamantly producing anime in the highest form, with as much hand craft and as little 3d computer animation assistance as possible. That level of craftsmanship is a quality that is admired and cherished by manyin that same industey, and strived for by countless other artisans. Ukiyo-e Heroes has nothing but pure love for the subjects that its artists depict, implementing pure craft to their works, from the moment they prep, the hours spent carving each block, to the final print--every moment is dedicated to reflecting their best skills at work.

These people love Miyazaki-San and the legacy imprinted by the Studio. Please say yes.

Holy moly! This project would be a dream come true! I've been a Ghibli fan for a long time, and relished the opportunity to visit the museum while I was in Tokyo. Ukiyoe Heroes brought me to David and his beautiful work. Its so exciting to see a vanishing artform brought back to life with the dedication and authenticity Mr. Bull has shown for it. Please please please let this collaboration happen so I can further flesh out my Ghibli art collection!

Ghibli, say 'yes' please! Here's why: I adore Ghibli films and would love to be able to express this with artworks around my house. It's difficult to get artwork that depict Ghibli films, especially quality work. These guys do beautiful, inspired pieces and it would be wonderful to see the collaboration there. It would merely compliment Ghibli's tireless efforts to their artform of film by allowing artistic license to this group. Please say yes :)

Ghibli, say 'yes' please! Here's why: As a little girl I've been watching your films and have grown up into an adult with your fantastic pieces of work. I've learned from your movies and even want to show them to my own children when I decide to have them. It would be absolutely wonderful to have wood artwork of many characters and scenes of your movies to display my love of them. Studio Ghibli, your the reason I want to become an animator, and I would absolutely love having more items that are Studio Ghibli to showcase around my house, besides it being a great conversation piece it would just be beautiful and a great addition to ones house.

Ghibli, say 'yes' please! Here's why: Fact: Ghibli is responsible for some of the most charming, endearing characters of all time. Other fact: David Bull's wood block prints are equally charming and infinitely respectful of their source material. Combine the two together and you would have delightful artwork that I would not only be proud to display in my home, but that I would actively seek out to collect. Please, please let this come to fruition. :)

Ghibli, say 'yes' please! Here's why: There are many of us fans who have grown up appreciating the works done by your studio.

Between works such as Spirited Away and Howl's Moving Castle, your studio's high level of skill and dedication has helped elevate Japanese Animation and paved the way for foreign cinema here in the West.

Ukiyo-e Heroes now seeks to use their own skill and dedication to revive interest in a unique art style. We feel that by allowing your timeless stories to be illustrated by this group, you will allow another great studio to further their works, help take care of your current fans, and help to distribute your works to new audiences who fall in love with the pieces and want to learn more of the stories.

Ghibli, say 'yes' please! Here's why: He is a wonderful artist, who takes great pride in his work, and I think it would be an absolute mistake for you to pass up an opportunity like this-- especially for those of us in the US who don't have as much opportunity to obtain "Studio Ghibli approved" merchandise (to say nothing of ART). Please consider this, if for no other reason than to make some die-hard fans throw money at you!

There simply isn't enough ghibli art that is official that I can hang in my house. Traditional wood prints like this would unique and brautiful.

Please allow it to be so!

You'd be supporting a beautiful art form that could go the way of the dodo without patrons and people with the talent and dedication to make it...much like the classical animation you (thankfully) haven't given up on. David is a master and would do anything honor with his art. Please let him work with the Ghibli characters!

Ghibli, say 'yes' please! Here's why: I study japanology and love the old wood block prints. It would be fabulous to have, like in 200 years, wood block exevitions where your motives share a room with Hiroshige and the other masters :)

Ghibli, say 'yes' please! Here's why: because Mr. Bull has worked tirelessly on preserving the age old tradition of wood block printing. His studio exemplifies the principles expressed in Mr. Miyazaki's films. It is imparative that this art and the art of animation not go away. It should teach the next generation of artists to explore how new and old techniques. At the same time let these new generation of artists explore something new.

I worked as a freelance artist for many years. I have been facinated by traditional art and animated works, such as Ghibli films. Please consider working with Mr. Bull to expand this traditional Japanese visual art.

Ghibli, here's a chance to have beautiful images and great childhood memories live on as people become adults.

This is also a chance for new media to help an old media. Without projects like this one, older media become less relevant and wonderful crafts die off.

In an age of temporary things, you can have some part of the Ghibli legacy live on while vhs, and DVD fade into history.

Ghibli, please do this!

Ghibli, say 'yes' please! Here's why: Woodblock prints are an amazing keepsake and tradition in Japanese culture. Ghibli animations are touchstones for modern generations. Bringing them together is such a celebration of the old and new.
