David Bull is an exceptional wood block printer. He has made these prints exciting for people all over the world with his work on Ukiyo-e Heroes.

It seems fitting that such classical Japanese films as My Neighbor Totoro be printed in the Japanese woodblock style by a master printer.

I would absolutely love to place these on my mantle, where I can be reminded of those fond moments that Ghibli created.

Here's why: woodblock printing is a traditional Japanese art, and I think it's wonderful that a modern artist wishes to continue making traditional Japanese art of Japanese characters and scenes. Mr. Bull's woodblock prints are beautiful, and I think it would be a shame if Ghibli turned down an opportunity for their characters to be represented in such a classic and artistic way. There is a lot of art in Ghibli films, so I feel that moving still frames to another medium only compliments the films themselves. On a more pragmatic note, I think this is a good way for them to make some money, since Mr. Bull intends to compensate them for use of their intellectual property. I see no downside to this idea. Please allow Mr. Bull to make his beautiful woodblock prints!
